Although the band hasn’t been around long, they are already turning heads and garnering fans at a rapid rate with their solid blend of hardcore influenced sonic brutality and intense live performances, featuring a dual vocal assault reminiscent of Volumes and Dr. Acula. Swimming With Sharks Records is proud to announce the signing of Laconic from Phoenix, Arizona. The band’s latest album, ‘For The Life Of One’, was recently recorded by notable producer, Ben Schigel (Chimaira , Drowning Pool, Breaking Benjamin). Fans of Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Five Finger Death Punch, and All That Remains will immediately identify with the band’s melodic metal approach.

Laconic stormed onto the underground metal scene with their release ‘Visions’ in 2009, receiving rave reviews from fans and critics alike. Since then, the band has built a name for themselves through word-of-mouth on-line and persistent gigging and touring.

Swimming With Sharks Records is pleased to announce the newest addition to the SWS Family!Above This, based out of Norfolk, Virgina, is a unique musical project fronted by vocalist, Shawn O’brien, and features music by Instrumentalist, Thomas Buser. In just a short time, the project has managed to build a strong following using popular social networking sites like Facebook and Youtube. The group is known for mixing the best elements of modern metal stylings, such as Deathcore, Hardcore, and Metalcore, with intense electronic backdrops and brutal, yet incredibly meaningful lyrics. They are set to release their newest album, ‘Empire’ the Deluxe Edition of the 7L7 Album, on Swimming With Sharks Records in early April 2012.
Swimming With Sharks Records is proud to announce the signing of Technical Death Metal outfit, The Vile Impurity, from Springfield, Illinois. The band recently recorded their debut E.P., ‘Anathema’, at Audio Aggregate Studios in Des Moines, Iowa with Engineer/Producer Dustin Miller, who has recorded albums for well-known Record Labels such as Metal Blade, Eulogy, Prosthetic Records, Trust-kill, Mediaskare and Sumerian. Bass tracks for the E.P. were recorded with Aaron Kaufmann, former bass player for After the Burning.
Drummer, Pete Rock states, “The Vile Impurity is pleased to announce our signing to Swimming With Sharks Records. We have found a tremendous home within SWS and are stoked to be affiliated with such a hard working label, full of talented artists. We will be releasing an E.P., entitled Anathema, first thing and will be hitting the road very soon to promote its release. The band got its start when guitarist, Miles Ellegood, and drummer, Pete Rock, united forces to create their own unique and viscous blend of brutal death metal in the Summer of 2010. They were soon after joined by vocalist, Dustin Ogle, and bassist, Aaron Kaufmann. The band self-released their first E.P. entitled, ‘Sanctity In Ruin’, under the moniker, After The Burning. The recording was released to much critical acclaim from the underground death metal scene and the group began supporting national acts such as Origin, The Browning, Periphery, Abysmal Dawn, Wretched, Goatwhore, and others. Aaron Kaufmann was eventually replaced by former Lividity bassist, Jake Lahniers. Shortly before signing to Swimming With Sharks Records the band collectively decided to change their name to The Vile Impurity, which they deemed a better fit for their newer, more powerful sound. The band plans on touring in support of their latest release, ‘Anethema’, in early Spring of 2012.

Swimming With Sharks Records has announced signing Bow Prometheus from the Dallas, Texas area to a worldwide distribution deal. The band is set to release their debut ‘Treachery’ EP near the end of February 2012. Their latest effort was recorded and produced by Jonny McBee, frontman to The Browning and ex-vocalist from As Blood Runs Black, and even features a guest vocal spot on the album.
Guitarist, Steven Rubio states, “Bow Prometheus is proud to announce that we have signed to Swimming With Sharks Records. We look forward to the future efforts they will put forth in helping our band reach our goals, and we’re grateful they are giving us the opportunity to showcase our skills and talent. The band got its start in Malakoff, Texas in a small studio apartment where keyboardist, Josh Giles began composing electronic arrangements which eventually evolved into full songs. The band mixes the best elements of Hardcore and Metalcore, accompanied by heavy synth back-drops. The band has quickly been gaining ground and reaching new audiences, spreading their brutal blend of Symphonic Deathcore to the masses. Bow Prometheus will be coming to a city near you, very soon!

Las Vegas progressive-hardcore/djent outfit Aechoes have announced that their latest effort ‘The Human Condition’ will be released via Swimming With Sharks Records this upcoming spring.
The band’s debut album boasts an all-star cast of album credits including Mediaskare Recording artist Daniel Braunstein, guitarist for the band Volumes, heading up vocal tracking, mixing, and mastering at DB Studios. All instrument tracking was done by Diego Farias, also a guitar player from Volumes, who provided a piano composition on the album as well. Other notable contributions include a guitar solo from Chris Storey (ex-All Shall Perish) and guitar work from Travis Montgomery (Threat Signal). The album is a complex and creative blend of the best elements of progressive deathcore, hardcore, metalcore, and djent.
Aechoes vocalist Kiernan McArdle states, ”We are very pleased to announce our new partnership with Swimming With Sharks Records. Noah Robertson works harder than most label owners, and understands the trials and tribulations that bands go through. He shares the same exhausting work ethic that we see daily with the record label and his band The Browning. We have complete confidence that Aechoes, and SWS will grow together and do great things. We are excited that our long awaited debut album, The Human Condition, is being released by such an awesome artist friendly label. In addition to signing to Swimming With Sharks Records, Aechoes have also recently inked a publishing deal with band management and publishing company, Salem Rose Music (Abigail Williams, Pathology, Bonded By Blood). Kiernan from Aechoes responds, “We are very excited to be signing with Salem Rose. We’ve wanted to work with Marco for a long time now. We’ve seen his success with Metal Blade and Century Media, and are glad to have his support,” explains vocalist Kiernan McArdle. “We’ve worked hard, and we have accomplished a lot within our first year of being Aechoes. We have a lot in store for the future, and this milestone is just the beginning.”

Swimming With Sharks Records is proud to announce the signing of progressive death metal band, Mouth Of The Serpent, from Los Angeles, California. The band recently completed its latest offering, “Manifest” at The Lunchbox Studios in Sun City, California with Dave Franklin (Ana Kefr, Hands of a Killer). Manifest features the artwork of praised metal-artist Tony Koehl (The Black Dahlia Murder, Embryonic Devourment).
“It is an amazing opportunity for us; being associated with such a sick roster of artists, and being represented by a label that was truly built by bands, for bands”, states guitarist Andrew Rubin. “2012 holds a lot for Mouth of the Serpent, including a summer tour and writing material for a new album, so we definitely have our work cut out for us. Mouth of the Serpent was formed in Los Angeles California in mid-2007, and since have been cutting out a unique place for themselves in the Los Angeles metal scene. The band blends elements of metal core and death metal with the melodic ways of prog.
